The Riparian Conservation Agreements Program is a partnership between Manitoba Water Stewardship and MHHC. The program began in 2005 and has received annual funding from Water Stewardship ever since. The program is part of ongoing initiatives to improve the health of Lake Winnipeg by protecting riparian areas to ensure they continue to function as nutrient filters for runoff water. Unlike some of our other programs, these agreements do not allow for the agricultural use of areas that are named in the conservation agreement.
