MANITOBA AGRO WOODLOT PROGRAM

After thirteen years, MHHC is proud to announce that the Manitoba Agro Woodlot Program has moved on. Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives (MAFRI) integrated the program into its Growing Opportunities (GO) initiative, in the fall of 2005. MAFRI recognized that the Agro Woodlot Program’s balanced approach to woodlot management maximized economic returns to landowners and rural communities, while enhancing habitat and sustaining ecological functions.

MAFRI is partnering with Manitoba Conservation’s Forestry Branch to deliver an umbrella program in partnership with the Manitoba Forestry Association. The goal is to help landowners make informed decisions by delivering high quality free technical support to landowners throughout agro Manitoba.
